Camp de Mar in the South West of Mallorca

Camp de Mar is in the South West of Mallorca in the municipality of Andratx. Development originally began in the 80's, with tourism rapidly developing in the late 90's.
The beach is 180m long, surrounded by hotels and apartments, mainly 4 and 5 star aiming at German and British clientele. A lot of visitors have, or rent, holiday villas and apartments in the area.
Pedal boats are available for hire, as are sun loungers and parasols.
Ses Dones beach is not far away and is 150m long, gently sloping into the sea.

A lot of visitors to Camp de Mar arrange their own travel arrangements, renting accommodation, as a lot of tour operators do not include it in their brochures. This means that despite the facilities the resort is still fairly quiet.
There are numerous bars and restaurants in the area, although evening entertainment is limited and based mainly in the hotels.
For those who want something a bit livelier, Paguera is a short distance away and the busy resort of Santa Ponsa is also close by.
One of the attractions of Camp de Mar is the small island just off shore which is reached by a wooden footbridge, on which there is a restaurant. Other attractions are the many golf courses nearby. |

Although the resort is fairly quiet there is a regular bus service from Andratx to Palma which passes through the resort.

Accommodation in Camp de Mar, Mallorca

Camp de Mar is not included in a lot of the travel brochures, but accommodation available from travel agents is generally of the 4 and 5 star variety, although in limited numbers.
An alternative is to book through one of the local estate agents or travel agents and arrange your own flight and transfer from the airport.

How to get to Camp de Mar, in the South West of Mallorca

Camp de Mar is approximately 32km west of Palma airport. Coach transfer can take from 30 mins up to an hour depending on the route.
For those wishing to make there own way, car hire is available from the airport. On exit from the airport head for Palma, then follow the Andratx signs until you see the signs for Camp de Mar. For more detailed directions use the map above.
There is a large taxi rank outside the airport. There is a fixed price to most resorts but there may be extras according to the number of people and suitcases. For those requiring special equipment such as child seats it is advisable to pre-book. |

There is a large Spar shop for those self-catering, as well as several small supermarkets. British products can be bought here but are much more expensive than at home.
The majority of shops can be found between the Hotel Club and Hotel Playa, with souvenir shops, newsagents and ATM machine.
There is a market at nearby Andratx every Wednesday and the nearby town of Paguera has a greater variety of shops. |

- 8 September: Verge de la Trapa - S'Arracó.
