C'an Pastilla in Mallorca. A guide from Around Mallorca

C'an Pastilla is on the south east coast of Mallorca, very close to Son Sant Juan airport and one of the first "British" resorts in the tourist boom of the '60's. This proximity to the airport can cause some problems with noise although the authorities do attempt to keep this to a minimum.
The beach stretches from C'an Pastilla, through Playa de Palma, all the way to Arenal. The sand slopes gently to the sea and there are various watersports such as water ski-ing and windsurfing available. |
Pedaloes , parasols and sunbeds are available for hire.
and outdoor cafes or "Balearios" line the promenade.
There is really only one main street in C'an Pastilla, with hundreds of tiny, narrow back streets running off. There is a picturesque harbour and the marina-Club Marítimo San Antonio de la Playa-is situated at the edge of the bay.
Restaurants and bars abound along the promenade and in the back streets.

Accommodation in C'an Pastilla, Mallorca

Hotels and accommodation in the C'an Pastilla area is mainly of the 2 and 3 star variety.
These provide for a mixture of mainly British and German tourists.
Apartments and aparthotels are few on the ground, although there may be private villas and apartments available through the internet or local estate agents, for those who prefer the freedom of self-catering.

How to get to C'an Pastilla, in the South of Mallorca

C'an Pastilla resort is adjacent to the airport therefore transfer time is very short, only 15-20 mins.
There are numerous car hire companies throughout Mallorca and C'an Pastilla and most will arrange for your car to be picked up from the airport.
There is a taxi rank outside, and the short journey makes this a viable option. The price is technically fixed although there may be additional charges for suitcases and special requirements such as child seats.
Once there, there is a very good bus service from C'an Pastilla into Palma. This runs approximately every 15 mins, although these buses do get crowded and you may have to wait.
