Bringing your car from the UK or any EEC country is allowed for a short stay - up to 6 months. The car must have a current MOT, tax and all normal legal requirements. You must have your driving licence with you at all times.

If you become a Spanish resident, or are staying longer than 6 months, plates need to be changed. Depending on the circumstances this can be to Spanish plates, which is permanent, or tourist plates, which have to be renewed every year.
This is a complicated process and it is advisable to use the services of a professional gestor or somebody who has experience in this process.
To purchase a Spanish plated car you must have an N.I.E. number. The car must be transferred into your name. Again it is advisable to get help from a professional, who will assist you and check that there are no outstanding fines on the car. Do not pay for any car until the legal transfer has been made, or you could find yourself with huge problems.

There are several companies either based in Mallorca or travelling to Mallorca which can arrange the removal of furniture and personal items, even cars and larger items.
The removal company of your choice will normally be able to provide you with boxes and packaging materials.
It is advisable to use a removal company which has a local office in Mallorca in case of any problems, which can occur when dealing with Spanish bureaucracy.

Storage is available on either a temporary or more permanent basis all in secure premises. Storage by container is also a possibility. This can alleviate any problems between you and your belongings arriving at different times - sometimes you will need to store your belongings here whilst you finalise things at home!
