Guide to Portals Nous on the island of Mallorca

Portals Nous is situated on the South West coast of Mallorca between Costa d'en Blanes and the popular resort of Palma Nova.
It has many hotels of different types as well as been an area popular with the residents of Mallorca.

The small beach, which faces one of the small islands of Mallorca, is accessible in two ways, either on foot from the port, Puerto Portals, or from a small lane leading to a steep set of steps which take you down the cliff directly to the beach.
The marina at Puerto Portals has increased in popularity over recent years attracting many of the worlds celebrities with its mixture of restaurants and shops.
The exceptional dolphin show at Marineland, on the outskirts of Portals Nous, is a great attraction for tourism therefore parking in the area can be a problem.
Nightlife is quiet, there are several bars in the area but no nightclubs.

How to get to Portals Nous in Mallorca

Son San Juan International airport is only 20 mins away by car. Car hire firms can arrange for your car to be picked up at the airport. Head west towards Palma and take the turn off to the Via Cintura, continuing towards Andratx. Take the Andratx slip road onto the Ma-1 Carretera de Palma - Palmanova. Continue until the Portals Nous Exit, where the route is clearly sign-posted.

Taxi service is available from outside the airport and prices are set, although additional charges may be made for luggage. If you have special requirements such as wheelchairs or child seats it may be better to pre-book.
Package holidays will provide
coach transfer, dropping passengers off throughout other resorts, which can take up
to an hour depending on the hotel drop off point. |

20 mins from Palma there is direct access to the motorway.

The main town has several shops and restaurants catering to many tastes. Most of the shops are on the main road which passes Portals Nous Plaza. Here you can find doctors, dentists, banks etc. as well as clothing and book shops to name just a few.
There is a large supermarket, Hiper Cidon, which has a large range of British foods. |

Costa d' en Blanes is a small town near Palma Mallorca.
The main housing is residential and set up in the hills with a fantastic view over Palma Bay.

There is only one road into the main residential area and this is guarded by security guards 24 hrs a day, helping to maintain the privacy and exclusivity of the area.
There is a small beach which is accesible from nearby marina at Puerto Portals as well as other access points.
