Travel Companies.
There are numerous travel agents and travel companies able to help you to organise your holiday in Mallorca. Use one of your local companies, contact one of the major travel companies such as Thompson’s, or contact a travel agent here in Mallorca where they can advise you on special deals they can offer, often with discount on many of the excursions available on the island. |
Local travel agents also can help you to extend your holiday with a cruise around the Mediterranean if you are looking for something extra special.
There are flights available from all major airlines and airports direct to Son Sant Juan Airport in Mallorca. Prices vary greatly, with peak season - July/August - usually costing more than low season.
The currency in Mallorca is the Euro. Travel Guide to Mallorca - Once You Arrive

Palma Airport is one of the busiest airports in the world during the summer months. There is a large, covered car park offering both long and short stay terms, with disabled parking close to lifts and escalators.
If your holiday is not part of a package deal then there are several ways to get to your resort. One option is the use of a shuttle service. This can be arranged as a coach for groups, or various other types of transport depending upon numbers – even limo hire! |
Taxis are available from outside the airport, in the car park outside of arrivals. There is a fixed price to most resorts with additional charges for the number of bags. Rates do vary at different times of the day and night.
Public transport is available although not recommended as the service takes you into Palma where you have to get another bus to your resort. The bus service has improved over the years but is still not particularly reliable. If you are travelling with a young family, with a lot of luggage, it could be a nightmare as the buses get very full.
There are numerous car hire companies situated throughout Mallorca, with the major ones having offices at the airport. Many car hire companies will arrange for you to pick up your car at the airport, or you can arrange it from your resort.
If you are making the whole journey by car then ferries are available from France and Mainland Spain. Residents of Spain can claim resident’s discount on prices of trips within Spain. This also applies to flights.

There are numerous companies providing package holidays to Mallorca. Apart from the normal tour companies such as Thompson’s and Thomas Cook there are several smaller companies which arrange specialised holidays according to your needs.
These range from peaceful and tranquil holidays for those wishing to just relax to activity holidays – where you may need another holiday to recover! |
Golf Tours:
Due to the increasing popularity of golf in Mallorca several companies will now arrange your golfing holiday for you.
All golf courses in Mallorca are of a high standard, many with their own hotels.
Packages usually include top class accommodation in a hotel or villa, transport to and from the hotel, tee- off times booked in advance and often a discount on the price.
Arrangements can be made for groups or individuals.
Activity Holidays:
Mallorca has lot to offer people who want something other than your normal beach holiday. Obviously one of the main areas here are water-sports. The warm, clear waters in Mallorca are perfect, with many companies offering specialist holidays, including boat hire and any other equipment needed.
Sports available include Sailing, Diving, Windsurfing and Water Ski-ing.
For those who prefer to stay on land, try exploring the beauty of the island on a cycling holiday, or join in on the many walking/hiking holidays available. For those who still want a bit more action why not try some rock climbing. Mallorca boasts beautiful mountain ranges and the cliffs on the west coast can challenge the most experienced of rock climbing enthusiasts.
Luxury Holidays:
For those who want something special, whether as a treat or even part of a honeymoon package, Mallorca has everything you need for a total time relaxation and pampering. There are a large number of luxury hotels and spa hotels where you can relax and be pampered to your heart’s content.
Holidays for the disabled:
Certain areas of Mallorca are not suitable for people with physical disabilities due to step hills and limited access, therefore a number of companies have now arranged full holidays for people with mobility difficulties and provide full back up with specialist equipment as needed. There are also several hire companies on the island which have mobility scooters and other equipment available.
18-30’s:
Teen holidays and packages created for those who want to drink and party all night long are still popular in Mallorca, usually based in the south of the island in resorts such as Magalluf. Packages often include discount drink prices and cheap or free entry into some of the local clubs.
